SHIATSU

Training includes obtaining Certificate in Zen Shiatsu at Zen Shiatsu Australia (S.A.) in 1985, and clinical training under Kaoru Kasugai from 1985 to 1986. Cert. Massage with the Victorian School Of Massage in 1989 ( First Organisation which qualified for Workcover approval ); Member of Society Of Clinical Masseurs, 1990 ( now part of A.A.M.T. ); Certificate in Therapeutic Touch, and Crystal Healing, attained through extensive private training with Edmund Harold, the Spiritual Venturers Association, and Grailhouse Retreat, 1986 to 1995. A Diploma of Shiatsu and Oriental Therapies was attained at Shiatsu Australia (now East West College ) to comply with current standards.

Shiatsu is of benefit to general well-being, sports injuries, back pain, neck pain, headaches, stiff and sore muscles, RSI, tenosynovitis, and many more physical ailments. Tecniques used include joint mobilisation, stretching, So-Tai, Orthobionomy, Moxibustion, corrective exercises, as well as the traditional acupressure therapy, known as Zen Shiatsu, which Spyros is a master practitioner.

Shiatsu also works to balance the body's energy meridians ( Acupuncture Meridians ) by applying pressure, stretching and loosening the muscles they travel through. Once balanced, the energy channels will aid the body to heal itself of many conditions, physical, mental/emotional and spiritual.

Shiatsu is practised through loose cotton clothing, on a shiatsu futon on the floor, as this allows the practitioner to apply pressre to the body and points with much more precision and greater effect.

In the fields of Meditation, Spiritual and Esoteric Healing, Chakra balancing, Crystal Healing, Therapeutic Touch, Numerology and Absent healing, Spyros has been personally trained by Edmund Harold - Internationally renowned Author, Healer, and Medium. Spyros has also lectured with Edmund Harold, and written a chapter in his book, Know Yourself, Heal Yourself.

Spyros has undertaken numerous post graduate studies including Injury Management, Yoga for specific conditions, Orthobionomy, Body Alignment, Lifestyle Management, Oki-Do Yoga and Oki-Do Healing, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Meditation, and various other modalities.
