| Description: | Is your child in Years 6 to 9 - the crucial years for education? Does he or she have problems with basic skills in reading or writing? Are they struggling to keep up with the rest of the class? Did they fail to reach the National benchmarks for literacy in the 2008 Naplan tests? In just twelve one hour sessions I can help improve these basic skills. In the first session I assess where the problems lie, then develop an individual program to concentrate on these problem areas. I am a retired Secondary School English teacher, with 36 years of experience in NSW schools. I am currently tutoring the Even Start program, a Commonwealth Government initiative aimed at improving the literacy skills of students who failed to reach national benchmarks in 2007. | |||
